Inner Re-Connection

When you are feeling a bit "off..." tired, anxious, irritable...it can often mean you need to re-connect with your inner life. When you find yourself snapping at your children, yelling at other drivers, or being short tempered with your spouse or a co-worker, it's time for a self check-in. In the moment you notice this "off" mood, it can help to take a deep breath and ask yourself, "What do I really need right now?" It could be something as simple as a 5 minute break from whatever you are doing at the moment. It may be you haven't had time to yourself all day. Maybe you are just hungry and need a snack or meal. It might be time to take a technology break and go outside. Maybe God needs your attention. Maybe your emotions just need to be recognized. Whatever it is, try to allow some space for that need to re-connect.
